Game Cast

Terms of use

The agreement for using the Game Cast app: who may have an account, who may film a game, what happens to a child's record, and what we do and do not promise.

Effective September 28, 2026. Game Cast is offered in the United States only and is written for United States law. Beta version; these terms will be updated before the app stores release. Game Cast is operated by the company being formed to own it; this page will name that company, and give its mailing address, before the app stores release. Buying gear or a membership on the website is covered by the terms on the site; this page covers the app.

Agreeing to this

Game Cast is a scorebook, live video and player-record app for youth baseball and softball. Creating an account or using the app means you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the app, and tell us so we can close the account.

Who may have an account

Children, and who speaks for them

A player record is the child's, and the family holds it. A coach creates a record and shares a claim code; a parent claims it with that code and the child's date of birth. At 18 the record is handed to the player, and the parent stays on as a co-owner.

Photographs of a minorA minor's photo is shown only to the family, the approved coaches of a team the child is on, and Game Cast itself until a parent or guardian has consented in the app. Consent can be withdrawn at any time, and the photo stops being served.

Your league or club holds the paper permissions for photography and video at its events. Game Cast keeps its own record of what a parent agreed to here; it is not a substitute for the league's, and it does not give anyone permission the league has refused.

Filming and broadcasting a game

This is the part to read twice, because it involves other people's children.

Scores, stats and pitch counts are not official

What a volunteer taps into a scorebook is the team's own record of the game. It is not the league's official result, and Game Cast is not an authority on the rules. The pitch counter and its warning colors are a convenience, not a rule engine: the umpire and the league decide what a pitcher may throw, whether a game is suspended, and what the final score was. Never use the app's count as the reason to leave a child on the mound.

Your content

Photos, video, rosters, messages and game records you put into Game Cast stay yours. You give us the permission needed to store them, show them to the people you have shared them with inside the app, and process them to make the product work — cutting clips, adding up statistics, reading a name aloud in an announcement. We do not sell them, license them to anyone else, or use them to advertise.

You must have the right to put in what you put in. A roster you import, a team logo, a photograph of somebody else's child: if it is not yours to share, do not upload it.

How to behave here

The team thread is coaching staff and parents talking about a team of children. Do not harass anyone, do not post anything you would not say in front of the whole dugout, and do not use Game Cast to contact a child who is not yours. We can suspend or close an account used to harm somebody, and we will.

What we do not promise

The app is provided as it is. Game Cast is in beta; it runs on real hardware, at a real field, on real cell service, and a broadcast can fail, a recording can be lost and an alert can arrive late. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we do not promise that a game you meant to record was recorded. Keep your own copy of anything you cannot lose.

To the fullest extent the law allows, our liability for any claim arising out of the app is limited to what you have paid us in the twelve months before it arose. Nothing here limits liability for fraud or for anything else the law does not let us limit.

Ending it

Changes

If these terms change in a way that matters, the date at the top changes and the change is described here. Continuing to use the app after that is accepting the new version.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of the State of Georgia, and its courts have jurisdiction. If any part is unenforceable, the rest still stands.
